On this 10th anniversary of the New Jersey WILD Outdoor Expo—which celebrates the state's bountiful natural resources and rich outdoor heritage—come catch MBOP running a booth focused on microbes in the environment. What environments, you ask? Well... pretty much everywhere!

We'll have live bacteria samples (including strains that glow-in-the-dark), coloring and crafting activities for families, and molecular biologists on hand to talk about our diverse relationships with bacteria, fungi, and viruses. You might be surprised where you can find microbes, how they play into the natural ecosystems around us, and why bacteria living on your skin is actually super good for you!

NJ WILD is held from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM all weekend, and is free and open to all! Other exhibits, demonstrations, and seminars include fishing, hiking, wolf conservation, rock climbing, outdoor survival skills, shooting sports, kayaking, bird watching, and more. We hope to see you there!
