Bio/Description

Preferred pronouns:  She/her

Hometown:  Boulder, CO

Favorite comfort food:  This is hard, but probably a full english breakfast- eggs, bacon, hash browns, sausage, mushrooms, toast, and a good cup of tea.

What is a scientist?:  A scientist is someone with a curiosity about how the world works, the patience to methodically approach these questions, and a want to inform others about what they have learned.

Why I am involved with MBOP:  One of MBOPs main goals is to increase science literacy outside of the Princeton community, and PTI targets a population that is motivated to learn and gain skills, but that is often overlooked. PTI has allowed me to grow as a teacher and improve on my science communication skills, while interacting with the most enthusiastic and invested students. As I've become more involved with PTI I have been able to learn more about mass incarceration and prison reform, meet people across campus and NJ involved in the prison education effort, and help grow the program. All of this makes being a part of PTI and MBOP one of the most rewarding experiences I have had in graduate school.

Favorite hobby:  Traveling! With a close second being skiing.
